One antiqued brass filigree metal hair stick with a filigree end that I hammered together with brass brads. Only one side of this stick is decorated; I usually wear mine with the stone facing back. Sure, it’s fancy enough to be worn to special events–but it’s understated and easy enough to deal with that it’s totally okay to wear to the store.
This stick is 7.25″/18.5cm from top to bottom; the part of the stick that goes in your hair is about 5″/13cm long; the width of the filigree part is about 1.6″/42mm. They each weigh 17-19 grams, or about the weight of three quarters. These guys are solid metal, so they can stand up to some pretty heavy hair.
So what’s what?
The cat’s eye stones are glass, while the mood stones, faux opals, and that marbled purple dude are lightweight acrylic. The tiger’s eye is a natural stone so its banding will show variation from stick to stick. The howlite is also natural, but it’ll just be white, and the green agate was color-treated.
