One silver-plated hair fork, decorated with a double-sided dangle made of antiqued silver lotus flower beads and sparkly glass beads.
The full fork, including the top flower, is 6″/15cm long, and the part that goes in your hair is 5″/13cm. Altogether one fork weighs 15grams, or as much as three nickels. The dangles are 1″/3cm and 1.5″/4cm and will hang down from the fork.
The hair fork is silver plate over copper. It’s not rigid–it flexes a little at the bend at the top. Don’t be alarmed by this! The prongs stay straight–you’d have to try if you wanted to bend them. They’re also thinner than the prongs on the other, shorter forks, so they go through hair much easier.
So how do you wear it?
I usually make a twisty bun out of my hair, then put the fork through that. Twisting your hair up with the fork itself works, but forces the prongs together.
